THE BICENTENNIAL CAMPAIGN
AT ST. GREGORY THE GREAT

In celebration of the Diocese of Charleston turning 200 years old in 2020, the Bicentennial Campaign was launched to strengthen the parishes and missions of South Carolina, form Catholics to believe in the Gospel, and live the Gospel through social outreach.  Our original timeline of participation in this campaign was disrupted by COVID-19.

VIEW THE CAMPAIGN OVERVIEW

At St. Gregory the Great, we are carrying-out this effort with a full understanding of the difficulties many in our community may be experiencing as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, therefore there is no judgment or expectation in your level of support.  We view this campaign as a tremendous opportunity to bring our parish family together in a time of great need, locally and across our state.

Your support to our Bicentennial Campaign effort will provide the needed resources to rejuvenate St. Gregory the Great and numerous ways.  We will receive at least 50% of the funds we raise through the Bicentennial Campaign, which we will direct towards the following elements:

  • Upgrades to the Church - Our Church building is twenty years old and significant components need to be replaced. Funds will cover replacement of the existing roof, replacement of the HVAC units, pew refinishing, and enlargement of the Adoration Chapel.

  • Parish Enhancements - Some roads and parking lots at St. Gregory the Great need to be paved, and St. Andrew Chapel is in need of some repairs.

  • Funding for the Second Floor of the Parish Life Center - During the construction of the Parish Life Center, it became clear that continuing with the second floor would produce significant savings to the parish. Funds raised through the campaign will allow us to pay off the balance of this addition.

  • School Expansion - Renovation of the second floor of the school building for Fine Arts, small classrooms, and special education. All funds raised above the parish goal will be used to expand our Pre-K program.

HOW THE CAMPAIGN WILL BENEFIT ST GREGORY'S

Through the generosity of St. Gregory parishioners in the early stages of the campaign, we have already achieved over 45% of our $3,000,000 goal!  Pledges made to the Bicentennial Campaign may be fulfilled over the next five years, are not legally-binding, and can be adjusted at any time.

In addition to allowing us to address our parish’s needs, your support will also benefit the social ministries and programs offering the love and comfort of Christ to our state’s homeless, vulnerable, and isolated brothers and sisters.  Additionally, your support will ensure our Catholic schools remain accessible and affordable for our children and the future generations of Catholics.

HOW THE FUNDS WILL BE MANAGED

SUPPORTING OUR EFFORT

Pledges to the Bicentennial Campaign may be paid over a 5-year period. This allows individuals and families to give generously and spread payments out over a longer period of time.  These pledges are not legally-binding, and the amounts may be adjusted at any time.

Pledge cards for the Bicentennial Campaign have been mailed to all registered parishioners.  Extras may be picked-up in the parish office, or requested by calling our office: (843) 815-3100.

There is no judgement or expectation regarding the size of gift you are able to make. Any and all gifts are appreciated!

If you wish to make a pledge using IRA Distribution/Gift of Stock, please contact the Diocese of Charleston Stewardship & Mission Advancement team at (843) 261-0437.

To give online, please click here and select “Bluffton, St. Gregory the Great, 302” from the BCC Parish menu.  Your pledge/one-time gift amount may be entered along with your payment information.

Please pray for our success!
